publin, Ireland

i took a trip to Dublin this weekend.
there is Guinness, and more Guinness. i couch surfed: no comment.

do not read on if you plan on visiting the Guinness Storehouse, or if you want to find out the brewing process for yourself. i dedicate my Dublin visit to my tour to the brewery. it was a massive place, and i received a complimentary Guinness (admission was 10euros so i took the pint glass as my souvenir) in the Gravity Bar which offers an amazing view of the city.

i had a good time, but sights in Dublin were limited. i had the opportunity to visit the President's residence. which is situated in the middle of Phoenix Park. Trinity College was nice. be warned that all there really is to do in Dublin is drink, but the pubs hold strange hours. museums appeared interesting, but most charge an admission fee, of course. public transportation is a bit expensive. Irish beer, coffee, and food were the highlights.

the famous Temple Bar area is a tourist trap, but i recommend The Porterhouse (an Irish micro brewery). St Stephen's Green is beautiful. actually, all of the parks are beautiful. so grab a beer and head to the park is my advice.
